There is no single claim to fame when it comes to the Disney name, and no single achievement that stands far above the others. This is because the vision is so vast, and the contributions of thousands of people have elucidated this vision so aptly, that its legendary status is well-earned. From the films to the theme parks, there are gems and jewels everywhere. It could be argued, then, that its greatest achievement has been to enter into the public consciousness so deeply that it has changed the way many people perceive reality (or at least the funner parts of reality).
There are occasional Disney World accidents that may cause a stir of discomfort, but these are usually very short-lived. The myth and the appeal still maintain their position, and their remarkable ability to continue to evolve. This is most certainly connected to its multiple facets, which extend far beyond animation and amusement. Of course, those things are enough for an industry to enter into the mainstream of world culture. But it is to the credit of Walt Disney that it has been able to take further steps. The multiple arms of the corporation are also capable of transforming themselves, so that it can continue to evolve along with the public perceptions and personal dreams.
