In college there is great emphasis on getting at least one quality internship. Some degree programs even require it to graduate. But while an internship at Southwestern company may give you experience in sales and business, many students are not just hoping for a list of references but possibly a job offer upon completion.

If a job offer is even a consideration or hope in your mind, it is best to realize it before the internship begins. The internship is as much about learning the industry as it is about proving yourself to be a valuable employee, which begins at the interview.

A good internship will be packed full of information and experiences. For the intern who would like a job, they need to go above and beyond. Don’t be afraid to volunteer for tasks, ask questions, and just be available. It is important to fit in, however, be yourself. Sometimes standing out makes a bigger impression.

Showing that you are a good worker, self-motivated, and willing to learn will go a lot further toward helping you get a job if something is available. And if something doesn’t open up right away don’t get discouraged. If you leave with a good impression you may get a call later when something does become available. Many of Southwestern company ‘s interns go back to work for them later on.

Even if you leave with a good reference, it can go a long way toward securing you a good job.

Santa Rosa Symphony Inspires Violinist

Okay, I’m only 21 but I think after last summer I have much of the rest of my life planned out. No one takes me seriously when I tell them this so I’m confiding it to you though I express my plans to manifest these elements in a more relaxed fashion. It all started when I spent a week in Santa Rosa last summer with my parents. I almost didn’t even go with them because it was an incredibly busy summer for me and I had some important performance dates coming up. I’m a music performance major and will graduate next year with a degree in violin performance. I have played the violin since I was seven and don’t remember ever not loving it in the last fourteen years. Okay, that’s a lie, I have actually hated it a few times but it’s one of those love hate relationship things.

Anyway, they really wanted me to go and I was able to rearrange my schedule and I don’t think I could have done anything greater for myself that summer. We spent a week in one of the Santa Rosa hotels that was in an older section of town. It was really cool and had a nice historic feel. I absolutely fell in love with the city almost from the moment I arrived there and am one hundred percent sure that this is where I want to move when I finish school. We attended a performance of the Santa Rosa Symphony and I really enjoyed it and respect the company. Of course I would love to audition for them and earn a spot but I’ll just do some freelance performance until that happens. This is where people tell me I’m naive, but I feel like I’ll be able to make a living, at least pay my bills by doing some private teaching and also working freelance performance jobs. Meanwhile, I definitely plan to move to Santa Rosa and maybe live there for the rest of my life, who knows. It’s a beautiful city and I love it and I also believe that things will just work out fine with continued hard work and commitment.

Pharmaceutical sales is a highly competitive field. It is next to impossible to penetrate the industry unless you have sales training and experience. But if you are looking for a career change it may be a good place to look for opportunities. Pharmaceutical companies sometimes look outside of pure sales professionals in those with degrees in other vocations.

If you have a degree in anything scientific it’s a good tip to look to pharmaceutical sales as another career source for opportunities. Also if you have good customer service training or prior management training it is wise to look into this career.

A good place to look for a job in pharmaceutical sales is to go to individual company’s websites. Don’t just rely on job boards. A lot of the pharmaceutical sales jobs on job boards can be a scam or require you to sign up for some kind of certification or group fee.

Most people want to get into pharmaceutical sales because it is a very lucrative career. Most representatives make not only a base salary but also bonuses and are sometimes provided with a company car.

It’s not all roses however; most pharmaceutical representative work requires a lot of working from your car, and not necessarily having a home base. And a lot of event planning of sorts.

Out going people with sales training are usually the ones that thrive in the atmosphere that pharmaceutical sales provides. But showing a willingness to learn and an interest in the company’s product can be helpful as well.

As with any sales job you have to be passionate and have drive. Pharmaceutical sales Is just a sales job that can be very lucrative right off the bat, you may also even have a way to go out on your own in the future.

Just another thing to consider if you are job hunting, good luck! And try to stay positive!

For some individuals, golf is just a way of life. When the time comes to choose a profession that will be satisfying as well as viable, many turn to golf schools to get a solid education. Schools such as the San Diego Golf Academy often play a central role in providing the accredited curriculums that result in legitimate degrees. Graduates can then take their qualifications and use them to find employment just about anywhere they choose. With golf being as widely accepted as it is, there is hardly anywhere that doesn’t have at least one golf course in the immediate vicinity.

While teaching golf can sound enticing, one must consider whether or not that is where their best skills really lie. After all, while it does provide the chance to be out on the greens, one must also know how to communicate effectively with people on many different levels. Managing a golf course is also a great way to ensure one will always be immersed in their favorite sport, although on a much larger scale. Mostly, the key to a fulfilling professional golf career hinges on efficiently combining one’s main interest with practical skills.
