Singapore Adventure

I have a 12 hour lay-over in Hong Kong, so I thought I would update my blog about my travels to date. I don’t have capabilities to upload any of my photos, but when I reach Vietnam, I’ll try there.

Singapore was very beautiful. It was humid too. It’s a small country, but it has tons to see and do. I’m not sure why I decided that China, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam are not enough stamps in my passport, but I did, and made a day trip to Indonesia. I’ll have to do an entire new blog just for that excursion.

While in Singapore, I stayed at a Singapore best spas hotel and was thoroughly thrilled with my choice. I felt like a queen. It was hard to leave the luxuries of my hotel, but I did manage to take many bus tours around all the different sights. I took a trip down Orchard Road, which is famous around the world for shopping. I stopped off in the huge Manchester United shop and cafe and went to town with shopping. I did a boat cruise that went around the harbour and I got to see the famous Merlion Statue that guards the harbour. Once there, I ate at a local restaurant that specialized in ‘chili crab’. Was was weird was the Hooters next door, and I could hear all the men whistling at all the pretty tourist women walking by. Sad really.

In the evening, I did the tauted ‘Night Safari’, which was really very good, I thought it might have the potential of being cheesy, but it wasn’t. I attended their creature of the night show and there was someone in the audience (most likely a plant) looking for their lost snake. Yikes! Because the snake was under my chair! Luckily, in a cage!  All this blogging is making me hungry. I’ll be back, so stay tuned.
