Customer Service at the Eye Doctor

Optometry is a field that requires great attention to customer service. It is one of the fields that demands that excellent customer service begin with the introduction to the client and continue with them throughout the service. This is because great attention to the client’s response to all aspects of the exam experience, including details on personal disclosure, are essential to providing the best eye care available and proper proscription glasses and contacts. Every busy has a specific orientation to the needs of their customer and being able to focus in on areas that are particularly important are essential. Steven Barbarich is absolutely aware of this and believes that attention to excellent customer service is part of the essence of a company.

As with any medical or health related field including dentistry, there can be an element of anxiety faced by the consumer when seeking services. This is something that should be remembered by the staff the initially greets a patient or customer as they walk through the door, or call to schedule an appointment. By providing a friendly voice, a smile when acknowledging the customer can go a long way to calm them and initiate a positive experience. In regards to optometry, receptionists may feel that this is a simple exam process and customers have not worries or concerns about it, other than picking the perfect designer frame. However, this is not or even usually the case, and many people have concerns about various eyes issues, such as cataracts and glaucoma, and this can cause them some anxiety over a visit. With any business, it is important to remember that excellent customer service begins with the client’s first interaction with the company, however, all industries should be aware of the various elements that may be at work on a consumer before they make first contact.
