The U.S. Open tennis tournament is a tournament rich with history and it separates the superstars from the rest. Roger Federer lost the French Open and the Wimbledon to Rafael Nadal this season so it will be no surprise to see both of these athletes in the finals match.

Federer will want to prove that he is still worthy of his number one spot and Nadal will be determined to climb into that coveted seat. These two players both show wonderful sportsmanship, even when they lose.

Roger Federer, who had won the last several Wimbledon tournaments, was obviously disappointed about his loss but he showed his respect and admiration for Nadal anyway. He did say he’ll be back next year, but in a positive tone.

This year’s U.S. Open will be exciting, especially since it follows the Olympics.

The Swiss banking industry appears to be in a crisis as outlined in this BBC article:

In Zurich’s central square trams rumble past the tourist stalls doing a gentle trade in Swiss souvenirs.

But while local chocolate, miniature cuckoo clocks and pen knives are still proving popular in the summer sunshine, another icon of Swiss identity is desperately trying to hold onto its good name.

As the credit crunch has bitten over the past year, the country’s two largest banks, UBS and Credit Suisse, have between them been forced to write down almost $50 billion (£25bn).

For a country that has built its name on its cautious and dependable nature, the events of the last 12 months have come as a shock to many in Switzerland. Read more….

Choosing window blinds feel overwhelming to me. I just knew I was going to measure wrong, end up not liking the window blinds and installing them incorrectly. I was telling my friend about this when she suggested using Next Day Blinds.

I gave them a call and sat up an appointment. One of their staff members came to my house for an in-home consultation. Next Day Blinds measured for me. And I was able to see a lot of examples of their selection so choosing was easy and I’m happy with what I got.

Next Day Blinds staff members even came to my house to install them. I didn’t have to worry about installing them incorrectly. And now they look just beautiful in my home. Next Day Blinds helped me greatly with my interior decorating needs.

Cleaning Area Rugs

Cleaning area rugs has never been so easy. In fact, because many rugs are made of wool, which naturally repels dust and dirt, shaking them off will get most the dirt off. But for a deeper clean, vacuuming does the trick for most rugs. Because you can pick up an area rugs, you can kick the dirt that has settled out of it with ease.

With shag rugs, depending on what they are made from, cleaning is also easy. If it is a wool shag rug, vacuum with a non-upright vacuum cleaner to make sure the tufts do not come out. Wool rugs also do very well with dry cleaning. If it is a synthetic material, shaking the excess dirt off and then vacuuming it should take care of the dirt.

And one final way to clean your area rugs is to replace the rug pads every year or two. Rug pads are inexpensive and they can also usually be vacuumed. But getting new ones every now and again will help with the cleanliness of your rug. Rug pads are made to be mold and mildew resistant so they will not need to be replaced too often. They will attract some of the dirt that settles to the bottom of your rug and then when you replace them, you get rid of that excess.
